Raipur. The administration is continuously making effective efforts to make women economically strong in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The 'Lakhpati Didi' campaign, run under the direction of Collector Amit Kumar and the guidance of District Panchayat CEO Mukund Thakur, is becoming a new example of women empowerment in the district. Under this campaign, till now 5860 women of the district have become financially independent and have achieved the status of 'Lakhpati Didi'. This is being considered a big achievement for the aspiring district Sukma.

Woman from Naxal affected area becomes example of self-reliance

Mrs. Savlam Bhime, resident of Dubbatota village of Konta development block, has emerged as an inspiring success story of this campaign. Despite living in a Naxal-affected area and having limited resources, he has created a new identity of self-reliance on the basis of struggle and hard work. Their success proves that rural women can also become economically empowered with the right guidance and benefits of government schemes.

Life changed by joining self help group

About six years ago, Savalam Bhime joined Lingeshwari Women's Self Help Group. A total of 11 women are included in this group. After joining the group, he got the benefit of loan facility, which he used to increase his livelihood activities. Today they are earning good income from animal husbandry, farming and forest produce based business. Apart from this, she is also getting regular income through buying and selling of tamarind and mahua, due to which she is able to support her family in a better way.

Women are getting employment opportunities through Lakhpati Didi campaign

Collector Amit Kumar said that continuous work is being done towards making women self-reliant through the Lakhpati Didi campaign in the district. He said that by joining self-help groups, women are getting new employment and livelihood opportunities, due to which they are becoming economically strong. According to the Collector, it is a matter of pride for the district that 5860 women of Sukma district have become self-reliant.
