The major disruption is expected to last until 3pm, the operator said, with significant issues being experienced by Thameslink. Two incidents have affected the Thameslink routes on Sunday, May 17, inclouding an "emergency services incident" at Streatham Common, which prompted the closure of the station, and a person being hit by a train between Bedford and Luton.
Thameslink services between Blackfriars and East Croydon were brought to a standstill amid the emergency services incident at Streatham Common.
The closure, alongside planned engineering works, meant there would be no suitable route available to use until the station reopened.
