New Delhi: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices has been increased by Re 1 per kg in Delhi and surrounding areas from today, taking it past Rs 80 in the capital.
This is the second price increase of CNG after the government raised it by Rs 2 per kg a couple of days ago amid the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz — a crucial waterway responsible for flow of energy from the Gulf nations — due to war in West Asia.
In Delhi, the CNG will now cost Rs 80.09 per kg. In Noida and Ghaziabad, per KG CNG will cost Rs 88.70. In Gurgaon it will cost Rs 85.12 while in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Shamli the new price is Rs 88.58 per kg.
Earlier on May 15, CNG prices were increased to Rs 2 per kg. Apart from CNG prices of petrol and diesel also witnessed an increase by Rs 3 per litre.
After the revision, petrol and diesel prices in Delhi is retailing at Rs 97.77 and Rs 90.67 per litre respectively.
