Penny Lancaster broke silence after husband Sir Rod Stewart praised King Charles for his recent state visit to the US and made a remark in relation to Donald Trump by saying "put that little ratbag in his place". The comment was made at an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the King's Trust.

Recalling the moment, the TV personality spoke to Vanessa Feltz's Channel 5 chat show on Friday and was asked "what did the King think of Rod's comment". She grinned and said: "Who knows what the King thought. All I know is Rod and I have been ambassadors for the King's Trust for over 20 years and have the utmost respect for His Majesty. And you know, Rod is the naughty rocker, who will just say thing on the spur of the moment or whatever comes to mind. As I say, maybe a lot of people are maybe thinking that and just didn't come out and say it."

Vanessa giggled and was keen to know Penny's initial reaction, quipping: "Tell me something, in the car on the way home, did you say to Rod, 'How could you say that?' or did you say, 'Good on you'?"

And to her surprise, Penny did not know about the 'ratbag' comment, adding: "Not until the next day. I thought [what he said] was typical Rod, and that's all I can say."

On Thursday, the 55-year-oldnput on a spotty display at Rivals 2 premiere at BFI Imax in London. She was seen wearing a lovely summer outfit in black and white polka dot dress with a matching scarf, with a a faux fur coat.

Fans loved her outfit, with some asking where they could buy the dress. While Penny did not disclose the brand, there are lots of high street options avaialable this season.

The polka dot trends have jumped 170% compared to last year, and The Devil Wears Prada 2 movie has made the prints more popular than they have been in years.

Penny said in the post: "RNIB was invited to the Premiere of Rivals 2, through our new President, Victoria Smurfit, who stars as Maud in Rivals. Disney+ have made the series accessible for the blind and partially sighted community through audio description - which our guests with lived experience of sight loss will be hearted last night. I was so happy to be there as Vice-President of RNIB and, like them I believe that arts and culture should be accessible to everyone, wouldn't that would be lovely."
