Sarah Ferguson would have said yes to Jeffrey Epstein if he had proposed to her, a friend of Epstein has reportedly said. It has been claimed in the new chapter of Andrew Lownie's book Entitled, which will be published on May 21, that Sarah reportedly would have been keen to marry the late convicted paedophile, even after he was convicted of being a sex offender.
This is because a friend of Epstein alleges that Sarah wanted to marry someone in America who was "wealthy and powerful". While it is believed that Sarah was not romantically involved with Epstein, she did joke about marrying him in emails released as part of the Epstein Files, which also showed how Sarah kept in touch with the paedophile even after he was first convicted.
It is important to note that appearing in The Epstein Files does not automatically indicate wrongdoing.
Writing in his book, Lownie wrote: "'Fergie made no secret how she wanted to marry someone in the US who was wealthy and powerful,' a Palm Beach friend of Epstein said. 'If Jeffrey popped the question, she would have said yes.
"'Even after ... he was convicted of being a sex offender. She had a reputation for being an opportunist and for sleeping with wealthy men.'"
In the Epstein Files, an email from Sarah to Epstein in 2010 showed her full of affection for the paedophile.
She wrote: "You are a legend. I really don't have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me."
The new chapter in Lownie's book also claims that Epstein was not the only wealthy man Sarah could have been interested in.
It was alleged that Sarah had also had a relationship with American rapper P Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs.
P Diddy, who is currently in prison for prostitution-related charges, was reportedly obsessed with the Royal Family and would brag about his relationship with Sarah.
It has been alleged that the pair used to stay in luxury expensive hotels together.
Sarah has been contacted for comment.
