New Delhi: Sensational knocks from Finn Allen and Angkrish Raghuvanshi helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to post 247/2 in theIPL 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Eden Gardens on Saturday, May 16. This is KKR’s third-highest total in IPL history.
After opting to bowl first on a sticky surface, GT’s bowling attack struggled as poor catching compounded their problems during KKR’s explosive batting performance. Allen played attacking shots as KKR crossed the 100-run mark in the 9th over. Mohammed Siraj removed Ajinkya Rahane for 14 runs in the fifth over.
But Raghuvanshi and Allen helped KKR recover by forging a 95-run partnership for the second wicket. Allen completed his fifty in just 21 balls, and Raghuvanshi played the supporting role. The New Zealand opener looked set for a second century in the IPL 2026 before Sai Kishore removed him for 93 runs in the 12th over. He smacked 10 maximums and four boundaries during his explosive 35-ball knock.
After Allen’s dismissal, Raghuvanshi played the aggressor’s role, and Cameron Green played a supporting role as the runs continued to flow. The young Indian batter played attacking shots and put pressure on GT’s bowling attack. He scored an unbeaten 82 runs off 44 balls with the help of seven maximums and four boundaries, while Green also smashed a 26-ball half-century.
The Australian all-rounder tore into the GT’s pace attack with three maximums, while Raghuvanshi also stepped up as KKR set a 248-run target for GT. KKR are placed eighth in the IPL 2026 standings with four victories in 11 matches, while GT are in second position with 16 points.
