New Delhi. Supreme Court Chief Justice Justice Surya Kant has today given clarification on his comments made on the youth during the hearing of a case on Friday. He said that a section of the media has misrepresented my statement. CJI said, I had especially criticized those people who are in profession like advocacy with fake degrees. Such people have also entered media, social media and other respectable professions. Justice Surya Kant said that I had called such people parasites. He further said that youth are the real strength of the country and I am proud of the young generation of India.

The CJI further said, I have criticized the youth of our country, this is completely baseless. Every youth of India inspires me. I see every Indian youth as the pillar of a developed India. Let us tell you that during the hearing of the case on Friday, the Chief Justice had said that some youth are like cockroaches, when they do not get work, they start attacking the system by becoming media, social media or RTI activists. Actually, an advocate had filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding not giving himself the status of senior lawyer.

While hearing this, CJI Surya Kant had expressed his displeasure and said that the status of Senior Advocate is not a decorative thing, which the petitioner is demanding from the court. He told the petitioner that there are already such parasites in the society who keep attacking the system and you also want to join them. The CJI had also criticized the Bar Council of India. The CJI had said that he does not investigate people who have entered the legal profession through fake degrees.
