Kundapur: The two-day ‘Akshara Ambari’ children’s festival, organised by Udayavani with sponsorship from New Mangalore Port Authority and in association with Sri Siddhivinayaka Residential School, commenced at Hattiyangadi in Kundapur taluk on Saturday, May 16.
The festival was inaugurated in the morning by Dr Sandhya S Pai, popularly known among children as “Sandhya Mami”. Retired Vice-Chancellor of Hampi University B A Viveka Rai and Principal of Sri Siddhivinayaka Residential School Sharan Kumar attended as chief guests. Managing Director and CEO of Mangalore Minerals Pvt Ltd Vinod Kumar presided over the programme.
The festival has been organised on May 16 and 17 to encourage literary interest among children and provide a platform for their creativity.
Students from Class 7 to PU College from different parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Chikkaballapur and Bagalkote, are participating in the residential camp.
