Muslim religious leader Maulana Sajid Rashidi has reacted to the decision of Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court to declare Dhar Bhojshala complex as a temple and cancel the 2003 ASI order. In fact, Maulana Sajid Rashidi has appealed to the Muslim community not to get emotional after this decision. He said that like Babri Masjid, he wants to fight this battle honestly.
This happened after Bharatiya Janata Party government came to power: Maulana Rashidi
Actually Maulana Rashidi raised questions on the ASI order of 2003. He said that on the basis of the order issued by ASI in 2003, Muslims had started offering Namaz there. Rashidi stressed that ASI is a government department and no one had issued this order by placing a sword or a gun on it. He had issued the order as per his understanding. Maulana said that Namaz was being offered continuously in the Bhojshala premises since 2003, but after the Bharatiya Janata Party government came to power, this controversy heated up once again.
We do not respect the decision of the High Court: Maulana Rashidi
While respecting the High Court’s decision, Rashidi also talked about further options. He said that we do not disrespect the decision of the High Court, but we still have the option of going to the Supreme Court. Maulana Rashidi also reminded that the Supreme Court has earlier also quashed many decisions of the High Court, and there is no doubt that the same can happen in this case also.
He gave the example of Babri Masjid case. Rashidi said that the ASI report and the High Court’s decision in the Babri Masjid case were against Muslims, but the Supreme Court had quashed the ASI report. The Supreme Court had made it clear in its decision that it did not find any evidence that could prove that the mosque was built by demolishing the temple.
Also mentioned aspects of Babri Masjid decision
Maulana Rashidi also mentioned other aspects of the Supreme Court’s Babri Masjid decision. He said the top court had also said that the Babri Masjid was wrongly demolished and the statues were wrongly placed in 1949. The Supreme Court had even said that action should be taken against the people involved in this incident. However, he also acknowledged that lower courts later acquitted those men. Rashidi expressed grief over the fact that despite all this the space was given for Ram temple. He called it unfortunate for the country and said that the Babri Masjid decision showed the whole world that despite everything being in favor of Muslims, the place was given to Ram Temple and Muslims still remained silent.
The Muslim religious leader also said that during that time the Muslims did not hold any protest nor made any objectionable statement. He respected the court. However, he also clarified that the alternative accommodation given to him by the court was not accepted. He explained that there is no such provision in Islam that wherever there is a mosque, it should be demolished and replaced elsewhere. According to their faith, the mosque is where it was and will remain there.
Those who are considering their victory should not believe so!
Maulana Sajid Rashidi also cautioned those people who are considering the decision of Dhar Bhojshala as their victory. He clarified that the temple has not been built where Babri Masjid was. The temple is built on 67 acres of land that was acquired during the time of PV Narasimha Rao. He said that he has disclosed this many times, but people do not pay attention to it. Rashidi said that those who are considering their victory now should not believe so, because this is the decision of a lower court. He said that he will go to the high court and whatever the high court decides, he will accept it.
Maulana Sajid Rashidi once again appealed to the Muslims not to get emotional. He said that just as he had fought the battle of Babri Masjid with honesty, he wants to fight this battle in the same way. He said that if the court of the country says that they do not have rights here too, then they will accept that also because they have no other option other than this. Rashidi reiterated an important point of Islam that they worship only one Allah and mosques are places of prayer, which are the center of their faith. He said that he will fight this battle till the end.
