District Magistrate Charchal Gaur conducted a surprise inspection of Amwar Village Group Drinking Water Scheme located in Duddhi area and took stock of the progress of the works. During the inspection, he instructed the officials and the implementing organization to ensure that pure drinking water is delivered to every household by the month of June. The project manager said that water is to be supplied to a total of 54 villages by lifting water from Kanhar Dam.
At present, regular water supply has been started in 6 villages including Amwar, Baghadu, Dighul, Devpura, Tera and Jamapani. During the inspection, the District Magistrate talked to the head of village Dighul on phone and got information about the ground situation. In which Pradhan told that about 60 percent of the houses in the village have not yet got pipeline connection and regular water is not even reaching many houses. Expressing displeasure over this, the DM gave instructions to speed up the work.
The DM set a target of providing connections to at least 250 houses every day and gave instructions to deploy 250 manpower. Also asked to get the damaged pipeline repaired immediately and to provide progress report with geo tagging every day. He warned that if water supply is disrupted, action will be taken against the concerned officials and agencies.
