Lucknow. Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and decided to bowl against Chennai Super Kings in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Friday. Here today Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant said that the wicket is looking sticky so we want to bowl first.

Akash is playing today, we are preparing for the next season and want to keep everything else aside and give our 100 per cent. We haven’t played well this season, we are disappointed as a team but sometimes things don’t go in your favor and we are trying to improve. One of Mukul and Samad will come as an impact sub.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said that wearing the yellow jersey is a matter of pride. Both batting and bowling have to be better on this wicket. There is moisture in the wicket but if we bat well then the score can be defended here.

Once you gain momentum, try to continue the journey with the same team. It is difficult to ignore the points table but we want to focus on our game. Spencer Johnson is playing and Gurjapneet Singh will play in place of Akil.

Both the teams are as follows:-

Chennai Super Kings (XI): Sanju Samson (wicket-keeper), Ruturaj Gaikwad (captain), Urvil Patel, Karthik Sharma, Dewald Brewis, Shivam Dubey, Prashant Veer, Anshul Kamboj, Noor Ahmed, Spencer Johnson and Mukesh Chaudhary.

Lucknow Super Giants (XI): Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Mukul Chaudhary, Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed, Mohammed Shami, Mayank Yadav, Akash Maharaj Singh and Prince Yadav.
