The IPL 2026 season, besides thrilling contests and closely contested matches, has also seen some incidents where players, captains and support staff faced actions from the league on disciplinary grounds. The IPL governing body has fined, warned, and given demerit points to individuals for slow over-rates and code of conduct breaches in multiple games across the tournament.
As per IPL playing conditions Clause 12.6, any team needs to bowl 14.11 overs per hour. A full innings of 20 overs needs to be bowled within the time allocated of 90 minutes (including timeouts). Captain and players involved can be penalised for being under the over-rate, the latter incurring a penalty upon repeating the offence.
Apart from this, several players and team management personnel also had to face penalties under different sections of IPL code of conduct for various reasons during matches.
