Meta explained that the feature is designed to increase transparency around Instagram recommendations and help parents stay informed about their children’s online interests. The tool is based on Instagram’s previously launched “Your Algorithm” feature.
Parents will get alerts for new interests
A big feature of this update is that parents will get notifications whenever a teen account adds a new interest category. This will help families understand sudden changes in the type of content they see in their teens’ feeds.
This supervision feature is live for English speaking users and is expected to be launched in India soon.
