Shashi Tharoor On Kerala CM Swearing-in Ceremony: Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor will not attend the swearing-in ceremony of Kerala’s new Chief Minister VD Satheesan. The Congress leader wrote in his post that I regret that I am not able to attend the swearing-in ceremony of my Kerala Congress colleague and the new Chief Minister of Kerala VD Satheesan.

Shashi Tharoor said that I am in Boston this weekend, where I have come to deliver the keynote address at the convocation of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of my old educational institution, Tufts University. Also attending the 50th anniversary reunion of my graduating class. He said that this is an opportunity to celebrate the past in America, while at the same time looking towards the future of Kerala.

VD Satheesan will take oath on Monday

Let us inform that VD Satheesan will take oath as Chief Minister on Monday. Preparations for the swearing-in are going on at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Along with VD Satheesan, the entire cabinet is also likely to take oath. It is being told that the leadership of the United Democratic Front is meeting here to finalize the composition of the cabinet, in which the number of ministers from each ally will be considered.

One lakh people expected to gather

One lakh people are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are expected to attend. Apart from this, senior Congress leaders as well as Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Telangana will also participate.

UDF gets huge majority in Kerala

It is noteworthy that in Kerala under the leadership of Congress United Democratic Front (UDF) has got majority. UDF crossed the majority mark by winning 102 seats in the 140-member assembly. In this, Congress alone won 63 seats.
