Fans of Emmerdale believe they've uncovered evidence that can bring Dr Todd down for good.

ITV soap viewers will know that Dr Caitlin Todd (played by Caroline Harker) has been bullying her mentee, Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) for months.

The plot came to a head last month when Jacob lodged a complaint with HR regarding Todd's behaviour. However, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) soon managed to get him to drop it, after the evil doctor threatened to tell Jacob that his newborn daughter, Leyla, wasn't his biological child - she is, in fact, Charity's daughter with Ross Barton (Michael Parr).

Last week, Todd admitted to having "fun" while bullying the youngster, before setting her sights on Charity. The evil doctor asked for £10,000 in exchange for her silence, with Charity reluctantly giving her £5,000.

During Friday's (May 15) episode, which is now available to stream on ITVX, Todd prepared to leave the village after inheriting her childhood home in Matlock from her late father. However, her plans soon changed after she learned that Charity owned half of The Woolpack.

Speaking to her flatmate and potential love interest Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), Todd said: "I think I might have been a bit too hasty... There's nothing waiting for me in Sheffield, not really. There's no need for me to go today, or tomorrow, or any day. If it's okay with you, I might stay for a bit longer, see how things go."

The doctor then pulled Charity aside at the bar, saying: "You said a lot of things, but you did fail to mention one thing - you owning half of this place."

A confused Charity responded: "Yeah, so?" with Todd continuing: "Does lying just come naturally to you? Is it in your blood? Is it hereditary? Oh, poor little Leyla."

Charity angrily interjected, saying: "Please stop right there! I'm not giving you another penny, okay? And anyway, I haven't got it to give," before Todd noted: "Oh, I think you do. And take it from someone who's been looking recently, it really is a seller's market."

The doctor then asked for £100,000 to get rid of her, suggesting that Charity should sell her half of the pub to satisfy their agreement.

Now, several Emmerdale fans believe they've spotted a crucial bit of evidence that could expose Todd's villainous actions to the locals. Many viewers are hoping that Charity and Jacob team up to get CCTV footage from the pub and shop, which would unveil Todd's bullying and blackmail.

"Is there no CCTV in the shop? Could show her threatening Jacob," one person wrote on a Facebook fan page. Another added: "Omg yes! And in the pub of her blackmailing Charity," while a third said: "CCTV is exactly what they need to take her down."

A fourth viewer echoed the sentiment, saying: "Maybe Ryan comes across it when he's checking for the money that Charity supposedly took to the bank?"

The drama continues next week when Charity is refused a loan extension. As Todd ramps up her threats regarding what she "owes", Charity approaches Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) in an attempt to sell her share of the pub. Will Ruby agree to buy it from her?

Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and STV, while Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and STV as part of ITV's new soap power hour scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale
