Tensions within the Royal Family are reportedly running high with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said to be causing frustration behind palace doors, particularly for Queen Camilla. According to sources close to the Royal Family, the Duke of Sussex had hoped to spend time with King Charles during the monarch's recent four-day visit to the United States. However, no private reunion between father and son took place, leaving Harry "extremely disappointed."
The King's four-day visit included appearances in Washington, New York, and Virginia, where he and Queen Camilla attended a series of diplomatic engagements and events linked to preparations for the United States' upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence.
A source claimed Harry understood the trip had been organised long in advance, but still felt hurt that arrangements could not be made for even a brief meeting with his father.
The source told RadarOnline: "Harry understands that Charles' trip was scheduled way in advance... But he's still extremely disappointed he couldn't have been squeezed in somehow. It would've meant the world to him."
Sources have also claimed that Queen Camilla remained reluctant to support reconciliation efforts. They alleged she believes Harry's public criticism of the monarchy has created significant difficulties for both King Charles and the wider Royal Family since the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
One insider alleged: "She thinks Harry has caused untold trouble for his father and the Royal Family. She has no interest in patching things up."
One major sticking point is said to be the couple's commercial success in the United States.
The source added: "Camilla hates that Harry and Meghan are still shamelessly cashing in on their royal titles."
Since relocating to California, Harry and Meghan have signed major media deals, launched several high-profile projects, and continued to build their public brand while retaining their royal titles.
Since stepping back as senior royals, the couple has secured major deals with Netflix and Spotify, headlined by their docuseries Harry & Meghan. Individually, Prince Harry published his 2023 memoir Spare, while Meghan launched her podcast Archetypes and her new lifestyle brand. Together, they remain in the spotlight through high-profile interviews and global speaking engagements.
