While giving advice to young fast bowlers, Ravi Shastri said, 'Play matches, not gym. If you are a young bowler, it is important to build bowling muscles. If you try to build muscles in the gym, you will get hurt. I have never seen Kapil Dev in the gym. Saw Srinath very rarely.

Mayank Yadav is only 23 years old and at such a young age he has suffered a lot of injuries. When he played lower age cricket in Delhi, he suffered an injury to his ankle and hamstring. He missed the entire season in IPL 2023 due to hamstring tear. In IPL 2024, he suffered a side strain and was out of the field only after bowling one over.
He made his debut for Team India in October 2024 but after playing 3 matches, he suffered a lower back stress injury and could not play the entire domestic season. He had back surgery in 2025. He has made a comeback in IPL 2026 after 353 days and has played only three matches this season. Mayank's average speed has decreased significantly.
