Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari took major action in RG Medical College case, suspended three IPS officers

Kolkata. After the formation of BJP government in West Bengal, Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari is taking big decisions quickly. On Friday, he took major action in the incident of brutal murder of a female doctor in RG Medical College. He has suspended three IPS officers. The incident at RG Medical College had shocked everyone. Many questions were raised on the then Mamata Banerjee government regarding this. Now as soon as the BJP government is formed, action has started in these cases.

On Friday, Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari said that the file of this case will be reopened and the role of the then police officers will also be investigated. The suspended officers include then Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal, then DC (North) Abhishek Gupta and then DC (Central) Indira Mukhopadhyay.

He said that many serious negligence have been exposed in the RG tax case. Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari said, after assuming responsibility as Home Minister, I had sought a detailed report from the Chief Secretary and Home Secretary on the RG tax case and the circumstances thereafter. This action has been taken after many important facts came to light.

Along with this, the Chief Minister said that serious questions are being raised on the initial action taken in this case, right from the registration of the FIR. According to the Chief Minister, information was also received from media reports that an attempt was made to give money to the victim’s mother on behalf of the state government, which will be investigated. Also said that in order to conduct a fair investigation, the private officers who were accused will be kept away. Also, the state government will not interfere in the criminal investigation of the CBI.
