Former India cricketer and actor Yograj Singh has been booked in Chandigarh following controversy over alleged remarks about women in a viral clip from a web series.

According to a news agency, an FIR has been registered against Yograj Singh at Sector 36 Police Station in Chandigarh under Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 62A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. The police have started an investigation after the clip spread widely on social media and triggered criticism from netizens.

Reports stated that the viral video is from an episode of the Hindi web series Lukkhe. In the scene, Yograj Singh’s character is shown inside a police station interacting with officers before allegedly making controversial comments about women. The clip quickly gained attention online, leading to calls for action against the former cricketer.

Yograj Singh, who is also the father of former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, has often made headlines for his outspoken statements. Earlier in March this year, he sparked debate during an interview while speaking about cricket career, retirement and family influence.

During the conversation, Yograj Singh suggested that family members, especially wives, sometimes influence players to retire early and focus on personal life. He also expressed that players should stay fully dedicated to their sporting journey without outside interference.

The latest controversy has once again put Yograj Singh in the spotlight, with reactions continuing to pour in across social media platforms.
