Fans at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur witnessed a dramatic IPL 2026 clash as Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets in a high-scoring encounter. While Virat Kohli stole the spotlight with a record-breaking century, Manish Pandey also produced one of the best catches of the season to dismiss Tim David.

Batting first after losing the toss, KKR posted a competitive total of 192 runs in 20 overs. RCB captain Rajat Patidar chose to field first and the bowlers gave early breakthroughs through Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. Finn Allen scored a quick 18 off 8 balls before being dismissed, while KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane managed 19 off 13 deliveries.

Young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi then anchored the innings with an impressive knock of 71 runs. He shared a crucial 68-run partnership with Cameron Green, who added 32 off 24 balls before Rashik Salam broke the stand. Rinku Singh provided the late push with an unbeaten 49 off 29 deliveries, helping KKR reach 192. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was run out on the final ball of the innings after completing his half-century.

In reply, Virat Kohli led the chase brilliantly after returning from two consecutive ducks earlier in the season. He opened alongside Jacob Bethell, who scored 15 runs before falling to Kartik Tyagi. Devdutt Padikkal supported Virat Kohli with a steady 39 off 27 balls as RCB crossed the 100-run mark comfortably.

The match produced a breathtaking moment when Manish Pandey pulled off a sensational catch near the boundary to dismiss Tim David for just 2 runs off Kartik Tyagi’s bowling. The effort immediately became one of the standout fielding moments of the IPL 2026.

Despite the breakthrough, Virat Kohli remained in complete control. Rajat Patidar added 11 runs before Sunil Narine dismissed him but the former RCB captain continued attacking and eventually completed his historic ninth IPL century.

Virat Kohli stayed unbeaten on 105 off just 60 balls and guided Royal Challengers Bengaluru to victory in 19.1 overs with five balls remaining.
