New Delhi, 15 May. The fraud charges against Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani in America may soon end. US officials have started the process of resolving this matter and withdrawing the case. In this way the legal dispute that has been going on for the last one year can end. Bloomberg’s report claims that the US Legal Department (Department of Justice) may announce the withdrawal of charges against Adani this week.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is also preparing to settle a civil fraud case against Gautam Adani and others. This case was initiated in November 2024. However, Adani Group has been denying these allegations from the beginning. The end of these cases will reopen international capital markets for Adani Group, which will help the group move forward with its expansion plans.

The Bloomberg report quoted sources as saying that the US Legal Department may adopt the process of dropping charges in a case to incidents happening outside the country. But, the SEC’s proposal may include a provision for a penalty to settle the case. However, the US Attorney’s Office has refused to comment on this matter. At the same time, SEC and Adani Group spokesperson have also not given any official statement in this matter.

Let us tell you that on behalf of the Attorney’s Office, Adani and his associates were accused of bribery of $ 250 million to get solar energy contracts in India. The allegation was that this matter was hidden from American investors. However, Adani Group has completely rejected this. At the same time, none of the accused including Adani and his nephew Sagar have appeared in the American court in this case. In this sequence, Adani Group had demanded through documents from SEC to dismiss the fraud case, because the American regulator lacks the necessary jurisdiction.
