Gadag: A train came to a halt near Kanaginahal in Gadag district on Friday morning after a technical problem was reported in the engine.
The Yeshwantpur–Vijayapura Express, which was travelling from Yeshwantpur to Vijayapura, has reportedly remained stranded for around two hours near the Kanaginahal railway yard.
According to available information, the engine developed a fault near Talakal in Koppal district. The train moved a short distance before stopping near Kanaginahal.
Passengers travelling to Gadag and Vijayapura were left waiting as railway officials explored arrangements to restore the service. Authorities are considering bringing a separate engine from Gadag to resume train movement.
The delay has also affected the movement of the Amaravati Express and the Kushtagi–Hubballi train following behind the halted train.
