Nurse Day: Actually the world considers doctors as God. But have you ever wondered what it would be like if there were no nurses in the health system? The doctor gives you 10 minutes, but the nurse takes care of you for hours. As soon as a bell is rung, it stands in front of you. He answers your questions more than the doctor.
Giving medicines on time, changing drips, doing checkups and making people happy on discharge, everything is done by the nurse. In such a situation, one day should be suitable for them also. Therefore, International Nurses Day is celebrated every year on 12 May.
What is the theme of this year’s Nurses Day?
This day is celebrated to understand the contribution and importance of nurses in health care. A theme is determined for this. This year’s theme is- Our Nurses, Our Future, Strong Nurses, Healthy Lives. On this day, many programs are organized in hospitals, medical colleges and many other institutions. In this, the focus is on the rights of nurses, health and their role in the society.
What is the reason for celebrating Nurses Day?
International Nurses Day is celebrated on the same day as Florence Nightingale’s birthday. He is called the father of nursing. Florence, born in Italy on May 12, 1820, made many changes in the care of patients and gave a new identity to nursing. It is said that when the Crimean War broke out, he tended wounded soldiers. At that time, she used to go at night with a lantern to inquire about the condition of the patients.
After this, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) celebrated International Nurses Day for the first time in 1965. After this, every year Nurses Day was celebrated on 12th May to express gratitude for the service and dedication of nurses.
Leaders also congratulated the nurses
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted on his social media and wrote, ‘Nurses’ are the living embodiment of service, compassion and dedication. They are the strong foundation of the health system. Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the nursing workers on International Nurses Day. Your continuous efforts even in adverse circumstances provide new hope and strength to the society.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta posted on Instagram congratulating the nurses and said, Happy International Nurses Day to all the nurses serving humanity with selfless service and unwavering devotion. Your service, patience and sensitivity in the most difficult situations are a source of inspiration for humanity. The society will always be indebted to you for this invaluable contribution.
On this occasion, Delhi CM has given a big gift to the nurses. He announced that the stipend of nursing interns will be increased by 27 times. The Chief Minister said that nurses are the backbone of the health system and their contribution is invaluable. This step will strengthen their respect, confidence and better future.
While sharing pictures of her meeting with the nurses working in LNJP Hospital on her social media account, CM Rekha Gupta said, Heartiest greetings to all you nurse sisters on International Nurses Day. The surprise visit to LNJP Hospital really surprised me too. Medicines do their job in hospitals, but courage gives your smile to the patient. Doctors provide treatment, but the patient gets motherly affection, trust and care from the nurses. Many times the family is far away, but the nurse becomes the biggest support for the patient. Your service is not just a job but the greatest worship of humanity.
Similarly, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also expressed his gratitude to the nurses on his social media account and wrote, Nursing is not just a profession, but a living form of service, sympathy and compassion. ‘International Nurses Day’to all the nurse brothers and sisters who are serving in every situation with dedication and patience. Best wishes! May you all continue to serve humanity, may God give you immense strength for this.
