Delhi Bus Gangrape News: A dreadful news coming from Rani Bagh area of Delhi has once again put the country’s capital to shame. This incident of cruelty to a woman in a private moving bus has not only raised questions on the security system, but the helplessness of a mother has brought tears to the eyes of the entire country. The most heartbreaking turn in this case came when the seriously injured victim flatly refused to be admitted to the hospital.
“If I stop, the children will starve to death.”
When the police and doctors were advising the woman to stay in the hospital for treatment, everyone present there was stunned to hear what she said. The woman cried and said, “If I get admitted to the hospital, who will cook food for the children at home?” This statement of the woman is now going viral on social media and people are discussing poverty and helplessness along with the system.
Driver-conductor committed brutality in a moving bus
According to reports, the 30-year-old woman was returning from her brother’s house on Monday night. She boarded a private bus in Rani Bagh area. Finding her alone in the bus, the intentions of the driver and conductor got spoiled and they gang-raped her in the moving bus. After the brutality, the accused threw her on the roadside and tried to run away. However, Delhi Police showed promptness and caught both the accused.
Responsibility of mother of three children and sick husband
The woman told that she had folded her arms and legs a lot in front of the accused. She pleaded and said that her three small children were waiting at home, but those brutes did not feel the slightest pity. Another major reason for not staying at the hospital was that the woman’s husband was suffering from TB and the entire burden of the household was on her shoulders. Despite suffering physical and mental pain, she wanted to run away home because of her love and responsibility.
Memories of Nirbhaya case become fresh
This incident has refreshed memories of the horrific Nirbhaya incident of 2012. Once again the question is arising whether Delhi buses are safe for women? The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken strong cognizance of this matter and has immediately sought a detailed report from the Delhi Police. Women’s organizations have also raised the demand for death penalty for the accused.
Police investigation and social questions
Top officials of Delhi Police say that a case has been registered against the accused under strict sections. The police is now also investigating whether the bus was on the scheduled route or not and whether the safety rules were followed or not. This incident is not just a crime, but also shows the bitter reality of our society where a woman is forced to worry more about her family’s hunger than her life.
