Election was held through ballot, hence RJD won: Tejashwi Yadav
Tejashwi Yadav claimed that this by-election was held through ballot paper and the result is in front of everyone. He said that RJD candidate Sonu Rai won with a huge vote, while NDA had to face a crushing defeat. Congratulating the party workers and voters, Tejashwi said that the real public opinion comes out when voting is done through ballot.
He also said that if the last Bihar Assembly elections had also been held through ballot paper, the Grand Alliance would have got more than 150 seats. Tejashwi alleged that the people in power played with the machines and caused harm to his party.

Raising questions about EVMs, Tejashwi Yadav said that despite voting through machines, the counting of votes continues till late night. According to him, when the results are taking the same amount of time as it used to take earlier for ballot paper, then what is the problem in returning to the ballot system. He said that the process appears more transparent in ballot paper and the public also has confidence. Tejashwi reiterated that the truth of BJP and NDA will be revealed when elections are held through ballot.
Seat snatched from JDU
In the by-election held on Bhojpur-Buxar local authority MLC seat, RJD candidate Sonu Rai defeated JDU candidate Kanhaiya Prasad by more than 350 votes. Earlier this seat was with JDU. The seat became vacant after former MLC Radhacharan Sah became MLA, after which the by-election was held. JDU had fielded Radha Charan Sah’s son Kanhaiya Prasad, but he could not succeed in saving the seat.
