Knews Desk– Bharatiya Janata Party has raised serious questions regarding the foreign trips of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The party has alleged that in the last 22 years, Rahul Gandhi has made 54 foreign trips, on which approximately Rs 60 crore has been spent. Making this claim, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra has sought clarification from Congress regarding the expenditure and funding of these trips.

BJP says that there is a big difference between the declared income of Rahul Gandhi and the alleged expenditure on his foreign trips, for which transparency is necessary. The party has raised the question from what source were the expenses for such expensive trips met and whether any foreign funding was also used in it.

According to BJP spokesperson, luxury facilities were used many times during these trips. It is alleged that Rahul Gandhi availed five star hotel stay, business class travel and other special facilities on several occasions. The party also claimed that the purpose of these visits and the activities to them have not been made clear to the public. Linking the issue to political transparency and accountability, BJP said that being a prominent opposition leader, Rahul Gandhi should make public the complete information about his foreign tours. The party also says that the public has the right to know how the activities of leaders in public life are financed.

On the other hand, there has been no detailed official response from the Congress (Indian National Congress) on this matter so far. The party has maintained silence on this, which has further intensified the political debate. Political analysts believe that this issue could become a major political controversy before the upcoming elections. BJP is calling it a question of transparency, while pressure is increasing on Congress to give a clear answer to these allegations.

At present this dispute is limited to political rhetoric, but in the coming days the conflict between the two parties is likely to intensify.
