Often people think that big changes will have to be made to save water, but the truth is that thousands of liters of water can be saved by changing some everyday habits. If some easy changes are included in the lifestyle, then water shortage in summer can be avoided to a great extent.
Do not spill water while brushing and shaving
Many people leave the tap open while brushing or shaving, which wastes a lot of water. Open the tap only when needed and close it immediately after use. This small habit can save several liters of water daily.
Get into the habit of bathing with a bucket
Showering uses more water, whereas using buckets and mugs is an easy way to save water. According to experts, bathing with a bucket consumes much less water as compared to shower.
Use leftover water from RO and cooler
People often throw away excess water from RO, whereas it can be used for mopping, washing utensils or watering plants. Similarly, the remaining water from the cooler can also be useful for cleaning purposes.
Water the plants in the morning or evening
Watering plants in the strong afternoon sun causes the water to dry up quickly. Watering the plants early in the morning or in the evening helps in maintaining moisture for a longer period and also saves water.
Get the leakage fixed immediately
Even a small leakage of a dripping tap or pipeline in a house can waste hundreds of liters of water every month. Therefore, do not ignore any kind of leakage and get it repaired immediately.
Small habits will become the reason for big changes
Saving water is not only a necessity but also a responsibility for future generations. If these small habits of saving water are adopted in every house, then the water problem in summer can be reduced to a great extent. Remember, if there is water, there is tomorrow.
