The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken major action on Wednesday in the case of alleged irregularities in NEET UG. Raids were conducted at many locations across the country. In this case, five accused have been arrested from different places. During the raid, many electronic devices including mobile phones and objectionable documents were also recovered.
Three accused have been arrested from Jaipur. Whose names are Vikas Biwal, Dinesh Biwal and Mangilal Biwal. Shubham Khairnar from Nashik, Maharashtra and Yash Yadav from Gurugram, Haryana have been arrested. Interrogation of many suspects is going on.
Search operation continues across the country
NEET UG exam was conducted on 3rd May. NTA had taken the decision to cancel it after allegations of paper leak. On May 12, the CBI had registered the case on the basis of a written complaint by the Higher Education Department of the Education Ministry. In which allegations of irregularities and paper leaks in the conduct of the National Eligibility Entrance Examination were made. CBI’s search operation continues at many places across the country. The agency is investigating various aspects of the case.
The case reached the Supreme Court
The Federation of India Medical Association has filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the Neet UG malpractice case. “Systemic failure” in the conduct of the examination has been challenged. The petition seeks to change or fundamentally restructure the NDA and issue instructions to conduct the new NEET UG examination under judicial supervision.
A demand has been made to issue instructions to conduct the examination in computer based mode. Security measures, stronger digital security systems and more transparency have also been demanded in the court’s release for the upcoming re-examination. A panel of cyber security and forensic experts led by a retired Supreme Court judge has also been suggested for monitoring.
Re-examination schedule will be released soon
