Once again a big political stir has started in Maharashtra. The undivided Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has broken once. There has been a split in the party, one is NCP and the other is NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar). Now there is talk that there may be a split in the NCP led by Sunetra Pawar, wife of late Ajit Pawar.

In fact, in the national executive formed by NCP, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar has been named as the national president. His elder son and Rajya Sabha MP Parth Pawar has been included as the National General Secretary and younger son Jai Pawar as the National Secretary.

The names of big NCP leaders Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare and Chhagan Bhujbal are not included in this list. In such a situation, there may be a rebellion in NCP after the list comes. It is being said that NCP leader Sunil Tatkare has met Sharad Pawar. Veteran leaders who joined NCP after breaking the party with Ajit Pawar can again join Sharad Pawar.

’22 NCP MLAs will fight against BJP’

Meanwhile, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA and member of the ‘Pawar family’ Rohit Pawar claimed on Wednesday that senior leaders Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare and 22 MLAs from the rival NCP faction will contest the next elections on BJP tickets. However, an NCP spokesperson rejected this claim and said that the party is united under the leadership of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar.

While talking to reporters, Rohit Pawar, when asked about the status of Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel in NCP, said, ‘Whatever happens, they will contest elections from BJP only. He has taken the decision and so have the remaining 22 MLAs. Along with him, some MLAs of Eknath Shinde have also made up their mind that they will join (BJP).

What did the NPC say?

Responding to MLA Rohit Pawar’s statement, NPC spokesperson Anand Paranjape said that Rohit Pawar is just trying to grab headlines. He said, ‘NCP is united under the leadership of Sunetra Pawar. Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel are big leaders of the party. There is no resentment of any kind in the party.

There will be an upheaval in Maharashtra politics

There was a split in the Nationalist Congress Party in July 2023. One group was made up of Ajit Pawar and the other group was made up of Sharad Pawar. By joining the Maharashtra government, NCP became more powerful than Sharad Pawar’s party. In such a situation, amidst the resentment of Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel, Rohit Pawar’s claim can bring a big change in NCP. With this, there may once again be an upheaval in the politics of Maharashtra.
