Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has announced a replacement for the injured player Ramakrishna Ghosh for IPL 2026. Karnataka all-rounder McNeil Noronha has been included in the squad for the remainder of the season. The franchise has signed him for Rs 30 lakh. Noronhane plays for Karnataka in domestic cricket. According to a Cricbuzz report, CSK has written to the BCCI and is awaiting approval to finalize the deal.

Who is McNeil Hedley Noronha?

McNeil Hadley Noronha was born on 23 September 2001 in Dubai. His parents are Indian. He spent his childhood in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). McNeill, 24, is an aggressive right-handed batsman and off-break bowler. Noronha plays for Karnataka in domestic cricket. He has represented Mangalore Dragons and Gulbarga Mystics in the Maharaja Trophy. He scored his third century against Tripura during the 2024–25 Naidu Trophy. Ramakrishna Ghosh was injured in the first match

Ramakrishna Ghosh of Chennai Super Kings played only one match in IPL 2026. He fractured his right leg during the match against Mumbai Indians. He was out of the entire tournament after that match. This young player took 1 wicket with 24 runs in three overs. He took his first IPL wicket as Suryakumar Yadav.

Chennai Super Kings have won six of their last eight matches. So CSK is still in the playoff race. Chennai have played 11 matches so far this season, winning six of them and finishing fifth in the points table with 12 points. Chennai will next face Lucknow Supergiants on May 15.
