New Delhi. The IPL 2026 season has now reached its final stage. During the entire tournament, many young players made their mark by performing brilliantly, but there were some uncapped Indian players from whom the franchises had high expectations, yet they could not fully live up to the expectations. These players, bought for crores of rupees, definitely impressed in the beginning, but with time their performance continued to weaken. This was the reason why his impact appeared limited throughout the season.

The first name in this list was Prashant Veer. After his strong performance in domestic cricket, he was included in the team by paying a huge amount this season. He was expected to play an important role for the team in both the batting and bowling departments. He certainly hit some attractive shots in the initial matches, but he could not succeed in playing big and responsible innings. His performance in bowling was also disappointing and he failed to leave any significant impact. The player who was considered a great all-rounder of the future, was seen struggling throughout the season.

Karthik Sharma was also included in the team this season with great expectations. His ability to hit long sixes in domestic cricket impressed everyone. Even in the IPL, he showed his ability by scoring a brilliant half-century in a match, but after that he could not perform consistently. His bat remained calm on many important occasions and he proved unsuccessful in taking the team to a strong position. The lack of stability in his batting was clearly visible.

There were also a lot of expectations from fast bowler Aaqib Nabi Dar. This young bowler, who took a series of wickets in domestic cricket, was seen by the team as a future star. But he appeared under pressure on the big stage of IPL. In whatever opportunities he got, he could not leave much impact with his bowling. The batsmen scored freely against him and he continued to struggle to take wickets. This was the reason why his performance was not considered as per expectations.

Young batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi played some good innings this season and many times scored useful runs for the team, but he could not maintain consistency in his performance. Despite good starts in some matches, he was not successful in converting them into big innings. The team kept faith in him, but he could not play a consistent match-winning role. Although his talent was clearly visible, his lack of experience was visible on many occasions.

Sameer Rizvi started the season in a very aggressive manner. In the initial matches, he attracted everyone’s attention with his fast batting. After consecutive brilliant innings, it seemed that he could be among the biggest young stars of this season. But his performance declined as the tournament progressed. He was not successful in maintaining the initial rhythm and gradually his influence started decreasing.
