Irfan Pathan, a former Indian cricketer, has attributed the remarkable success of Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the IPL 2026 to his consistent and repeatable bowling action over the years.
In the ongoing season, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has claimed the prestigious Orange Cap, having taken 21 wickets in just 11 matches, boasting an impressive average of 15.29, including a standout four-wicket haul. His contributions have been pivotal for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who currently sit second on the points table with seven victories.
Pathan Praises Bhuvneshwar's Control
During a discussion on JioHotstar, Irfan Pathan elaborated on Bhuvneshwar Kumar's success in IPL 2026. He commended the bowler for his remarkable consistency and control, emphasizing that his long-established bowling technique has been crucial to his achievements in the league.
Pathan noted Bhuvneshwar's precise wrist positioning, seam control, and his ability to swing the ball effectively in both directions. He remarked, "Bhuvneshwar has an incredible and highly repeatable action. Over his 16-year IPL career, he has maintained the same technique. This consistency allows him to target specific areas effectively. His wrist position and manipulation are exceptional, with minimal seam position changes, whether delivering an inswinger or an outswinger, all executed with remarkable control. A bowler's speed gives the batsman only a split second to react, and Bhuvneshwar can place the ball exactly where he intends, thanks to his experience."
Bhuvneshwar's Record in IPL
Currently, Bhuvneshwar Kumar stands as the leading wicket-taking pacer in IPL history, having amassed 201 wickets across 201 matches. He ranks second overall among all-time wicket-takers, trailing only Yuzvendra Chahal, who leads with 229 wickets. Bhuvneshwar aims to maintain his outstanding form in RCB's upcoming match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday.
