Watch: Former England Cricketers Mock Virat Kohli, Burst into Laughter Over Golden Duck in IPL 2026

Virat Kohli is under the spotlight again after scoring consecutive ducks in the IPL 2026, and now his latest dismissal has become the main talking point for few of the former England cricketers.

RCB batter was caught on the first ball by Mumbai Indians, his 8th golden duck in the IPL, after scoring zero in the previous game against LSG as the Indian batter is on the verge of hat-trick of ducks for second time within less than a year.

Kohli's recent poor form was discussed by former England players Michael Vaughan, Alastair Cook, Phil Tufnell and David Lloyd on the 'Stick to Cricket' podcast.

Sarcastic Joke About Kohli Goes Viral

The debate starts by praising the RCB batter Jacob Bethell who scored 27 coming in for Phil Salt in the playing XI.

"Jacob Bethell got 27. Oh, lovely knock", said Tufnell.

Following this David Lloyd made a sarcastic comment about Kohli's dismissal:

"So, the mischief of this. I mentioned that word again, is that you can learn so much from batting with Virat Kohli, you’re out first ball."

The comment was followed by guffaws among the panel, and a clip of the statement has already gone viral across the social media.

The dip in form saw Kohli fall down the top 10 list of run getters this season after being in contention for the Orange Cap.

Kohli Has Responded Strongly Before

Despite the current struggles, Kohli has come back from such periods strongly in the past. The last time he came close to a hat-trick of ducks was during India’s tour to Australia at the fag end of 2025.

With scores of zero in Perth and Adelaide, Kohli responded with a measured 74 in Sydney before enjoying an outstanding ODI form for India and has since gone onto registering three hundreds and as many 50s in his last seven ODI games.

He retired from Test cricket last year and had looked solely devoted to white-ball cricket leading up to next year's ODI World Cup in South Africa.

Kohli will now be hoping to find form when Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Kolkata Knight Riders in an important IPL 2026 fixture later on today.
