Kathmandu. Nishkal Rai, chief whip of Nepal’s main opposition party Nepali Congress, has objected to the Prime Minister’s absence in the House and demanded the Speaker to bring a ruling in this regard.

In the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Wednesday, Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Nishkal Rai objected to the absence of the Prime Minister in the House. He said that the Prime Minister himself should be present in the House to answer the questions raised on the policies and programs presented in the House. Rai said that yesterday also we had demanded the presence of the Prime Minister in the House and even today the situation is the same. Answering the questions raised on policy and program is mentioned in the agenda, but the Prime Minister is not present in the House.

He said that it is the responsibility of the Speaker to maintain the dignity of the Parliament and the Prime Minister should be called to the House through ruling. Rai said that it is the Speaker’s role to maintain the dignity and respect of the House. You are also our leader. If you do not protect the dignity of the House, no one else will be able to do so.

He also said that judges and the judiciary cannot be debated in Parliament in circumstances other than impeachment.
