Bengaluru: Kannada actor, director and television artiste Dileep Raj passed away on Wednesday at the age of 47 following a heart attack, prompting condolences from several members of the Kannada film industry.
Actor-director Rishab Shetty expressed grief over the demise through a post on X, remembering Dileep Raj as not only a talented artiste but also a kind-hearted person.
In his post, Rishab Shetty wrote that Dileep Raj was “a good actor, director, producer, and above all, a good human being,” adding that although they had met only a few times, his personality had left a lasting impression.
According to reports, Dileep Raj suffered a heart attack at his residence on Wednesday morning. He was immediately rushed to Apollo Hospital in Kumaraswamy Layout, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Dileep Raj was known for his contributions to Kannada cinema and television serials. He had acted in nearly 24 films and rose to prominence as a lead actor in the 2005 film Boy Friend.
He later gained wider recognition for his performance in Milan starring late actor Puneeth Rajkumar.
