Eileen Wang was elected as the mayor of Arcadia, California in 2022. After that he was forced to resign when allegations of espionage were raised against him. Joe Biden was the president of America at that time. Wang was accused of trying to create a pro-Chinese environment on American soil. It was alleged by the FBI that he was seen posting on social media on the orders of the Chinese Communist government. This activity lasted from 2020 to 2022. The former mayor of California appeared in court for the first time last Monday. According to US court documents, Wang, 58, pleaded guilty to all charges against him. Investigators said Wang could face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for espionage.

The FBI arrested her ex-husband Yuning Mike Sun in this case. In October last year, Wang admitted his guilt during interrogation and apologized.
