Eurovision 2026 viewers have shared their thoughts on Boy George's performance - and it appears some are unimpressed.

The cherished musical extravaganza returned to screens on Tuesday night (May 12) live from Vienna, Austria. And like normal, several musical stars from all over the world took to the stage in a bid to take home the iconic trophy.

And that included pop superstar Boy George, the 80s icon famous for being in Culture Club and for hits like Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.

The singer - real name George Alan O'Dowd - made an appearance as part of San Marino singer Senhit's entry for the song contest. She last competed alongside American rapper Flo-Rida in Rotterdam in 2021.

And on Wednesday (May 12), Boy George and Senhit performed the song Superstar, in which Boy George made a cameo halfway through the song, appearing on a silver throne in a black suit.

Unfortunately, Boy George and Senhit ended up in the bottom five and will not return for the Grand Final this weekend as they failed to be voted through. And viewers watching Boy George's Eurovision performance at home quickly shared their thoughts on X. One disgruntled person said: "I quite like this but the addition of Boy George is pointless and he sounds bad."

Another added: "He did absolutely f*** all. Most pointless guest spot ever." A third chimed in: "Boy George ruins that song... what's the point of him. Awful vocals."

Someone else mused: "I thought he made the song worse if I'm honest, sorry I rate him but thought he was poor!" Nonetheless, it wasn't all negative though as plenty of Boy George's fans praised the singer and expressed their disappointment over him not making it through to the next stage.

One person said: "Sad that San Marino didn't get through I really liked the song & loved Boy George." Another added: "Saddened Boy George out, thought it was a great song." A third then penned: "She is the superstar on that stage .. not the has been Boy George .. he ruined the night for her, such a shame."

Meanwhile talking about his Eurovision stint, Boy George previously said in an interview with Wiwibloggs: "It is very different to how it is on TV. It is such a well run ship.

"Literally, from the minute you arrive I'm like 'I need to have this in my life, I need to have this at my gigs. This level of organisation, it's kind of insane!"

The Eurovision Song Contest grand finale airs Saturday, May 16 at 8pm BST on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
