Bengaluru: A 65-year-old auto driver died after an electric two-wheeler allegedly exploded while being charged at his residence in Murphy Town area here during the early hours of Tuesday, May 12, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Lourd Nathan, a resident of Murphy Town in Halasur police station limits.
According to police, on Monday at around 11 pm, an electric two-wheeler vehicle was put on charge and the family went to sleep.
At around 3 am after midnight, the electric two-wheeler allegedly exploded inside the house, causing a fire in the residence.
Police said the victim sustained severe burn injuries in the blaze while he was asleep inside the house.
He was immediately shifted to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead, police added.
The complaint in the case was lodged by the deceased’s son, Frank Anthony L, police said.
A case has been registered in this regard.
