Preparations have now begun to develop the Dwarka area of the capital Delhi as a major center for domestic and foreign investment. Under the plan, work is being done to establish offices of IT, healthcare, digital infrastructure and global companies here. In this direction, DDA has intensified preparations at the initial level. The objective of the project is said to be to develop Dwarka as a modern urban economic hub, so that both employment and investment can be promoted. Regarding this initiative, Lieutenant Governor TS Sandhu has instructed the concerned departments to carry forward the work expeditiously. Under the plan, emphasis will be laid on developing better connectivity, digital infrastructure and commercial space in the area.

LG instructed DDA to prepare the plan soon

Along with Dwarka, work has been expedited on the plan to develop Rohini and Narela as big financial and commercial centres. In a recent meeting with DDA officials regarding this, the Lieutenant Governor discussed in detail the overall development of the three areas and gave instructions to take the plans forward rapidly. According to officials, better road networks, expanded metro connectivity, new education centers and large residential projects are being developed rapidly in these areas, due to which these areas can emerge as major economic centers in the future. In particular, the Yasobhoomi being developed in Dwarka and the proposed Diplomatic Hub will help in making the region more prominent internationally.

According to sources, the Lieutenant Governor has been emphasizing on developing these areas as economic and investment centers for some time. Recently he visited Dwarka sub-city and also reviewed several ongoing and proposed projects. After this inspection, DDA has been instructed to study in detail the possibilities of setting up offices of IT, healthcare, digital infrastructure and global companies in these areas. Officials say that work is already going on at a rapid pace in these areas on infrastructure development like road network, metro connectivity, housing schemes and education centres, due to which these areas can emerge as big economic centers in the coming time.

Plan to build data center and semiconductor plant

According to officials, these areas are developing rapidly due to the opening of Urban Extension Road (UER), extensive metro network, TOD policy, new education centers and big residential projects. Due to new road projects and better connectivity with IGI, there is increasing scope for large infrastructure projects like data centres, semiconductor units and warehouses. The Lieutenant Governor has instructed the officials to prepare a detailed plan soon in coordination with all the concerned departments. He believes that this proposed development model will give new impetus to investment in Delhi and will also create new employment opportunities. Apart from this, it will help in carrying forward the urban development of the capital in a more balanced and planned manner.
