Apart from this, the strengthening of the US dollar has put downward pressure on this precious metal. Additionally, increasing tensions between the US and Iran have increased concerns about the supply chain, causing crude oil prices to rise.
Today, on May 12, gold prices have fallen for the second consecutive day. After a day of stability, gold prices fell for the second consecutive session today. In these two days, the price of 24-carat gold has fallen by Rs 230 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold has become cheaper by Rs 210.
Specifically, in today’s trade, the price of 24-carat gold (per 10 grams) in the national capital Delhi fell by Rs 10, and 22-carat gold also saw a decline of Rs 10. Talking about silver, after three consecutive days of stability, its prices fell in Delhi today. Rates reduced by Rs 100 per kg.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 152,270 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 139,590 and 18-carat gold was sold at Rs 114,240 per 10 grams.
In Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, the rate of 24-carat gold was recorded at Rs 152,120 per 10 grams. In these cities, the price of 22-carat gold stood at Rs 139,440 and the price of 18-carat gold stood at Rs 114,090 per 10 grams.
Gold prices were highest in Chennai. Here, the price of 24-carat gold reached Rs 153,810 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 140,990 and 18-carat gold stood at Rs 117,690 per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, in Lucknow and Jaipur, the price of 24-carat gold was recorded at Rs 152,270 and that of 22-carat gold was recorded at Rs 139,590 per 10 grams. In Patna and Ahmedabad, the price of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 1,52,170 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was seen trading at Rs 1,39,490 and 18-carat gold was seen trading at Rs 1,14,240 per 10 grams.
Silver prices fall after three days of stability
Talking about silver, after three consecutive days of stability, its prices have fallen today. Earlier, the price of one kilogram of silver had increased by Rs 20,000 for three consecutive days. As of today, the price in Delhi has fallen by Rs 100 per kg, and silver is currently selling at Rs 2,74,900.
Talking about other major metros, silver is trading at the same price in Mumbai and Kolkata also. However, the price of one kilogram of silver in Chennai is Rs 2,85,100, which means that among the four major metros, silver is currently the most expensive in Chennai.
