Between shoots, public appearances, blog updates and upcoming films, the veteran actor still works late into the night. But recently, the Bollywood icon admitted that the constant work pressure has started affecting his sleep routine.

In a blog post shared in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Amitabh opened up about struggling with sleepless nights and explained how he tries to calm himself during those quiet hours. What stood out for many readers was that the actor’s way of relaxing is not complicated or expensive. According to him, listening to soft classical music helps him feel peaceful and eventually fall asleep.

The actor has long been known for writing personal thoughts on his blog, often speaking honestly about life, work and ageing. This time too, he spoke openly about how work often becomes more important than rest, even though doctors advise otherwise.

Work often takes priority over sleep

Sharing his thoughts late at night, Amitabh wrote about staying awake despite knowing how important sleep is for the body.

He wrote, “No sleep process takes over at this hour of the morning from the night before. Why because, work is more important than sleep... medical says it’s not right... must get 7 hrs minimum... the body grows, develops and repairs in the sleep hours... so what does one do?”

The actor then explained how music becomes his comfort during those long working hours at night.

“As I work, I am glued to the Ef Blog but in the silence of the night that gentle music on slide guitar - sitar rendering some of the most soulful classical meditation solos... aaah!! there is no better cure for the soul than this,” he added.

For many people dealing with stress, irregular work timings or overthinking at night, the actor’s habit may sound familiar. Soft instrumental music and calming sounds are often used by people trying to relax before sleep, and Amitabh seems to rely on the same method after exhausting work hours.

Actor reflects on music and peace of mind

Amitabh Bachchan also shared an emotional note on how deeply connected he feels to music. According to him, music creates a sense of calmness that words sometimes cannot.

“It is the chord that ties the soul to the Almighty... that invisible thread unseen, yet felt despite its absence... I feel... so it strums the strings within... put it on and softly it shall give you the peace of slumber,” he wrote.

He further added, “the seven notes that have invaded all music in whichever part of the world, are the universal commonness of mankind... respect it and it shall respect you.”

Over the years, Amitabh has often spoken about spirituality, emotions and the importance of simple moments in life. Fans online also reacted warmly to his latest blog, with many saying his thoughts felt honest and relatable, especially at a time when sleep issues and stress have become common for people across age groups.
