Bhopal: Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is now moving towards creating a new identity in the field of environmental protection. Amidst the increasing pollution, heat and deteriorating air, such technology has been introduced in the city, which is being seen as the ‘smart green solution’ of the future. The special thing is that this initiative has been taken for the first time in the country. Modern ‘Algae Tree’ technology has been installed in Vivekananda Park located in Ashoka Garden area of Bhopal, which absorbs carbon dioxide from the air and releases oxygen. Environmental experts are considering it very useful for the times to come.
This new technology is based on microalgae. Microalgae are very small organisms, which produce oxygen by naturally absorbing carbon dioxide. ‘Algae Tree’ has been prepared by combining this principle with modern technology. It has been developed by Mushroom World Group. The company claims that one unit of this technology has the capacity to absorb carbon equal to about 25 big trees. Through this, about 1.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide can be reduced every year. In such a situation, this technology can play an important role in controlling the increasing pollution in cities.
Model prepared after two years of research
According to the company, continuous work was done on this project for about two years. During this time, a large team of scientists, engineers and research experts researched its design and functioning. It was told that more than 50 experts have jointly developed this technology. This system has been specially designed keeping in mind the urban areas, where there is shortage of space. This is the reason why it can work effectively even in small spaces. It can be easily installed in parks, markets, traffic signals, government institutions and crowded areas.
Hope for relief from pollution and heatwave
In the last few years, both pollution and temperature have increased rapidly in big cities. Smoke coming out of vehicles, emissions from industries and continuously decreasing greenery are spoiling the air of cities. In such a situation, technology like ‘Algae Tree’ is being seen as a relief option. Environmental experts say that this technology is not limited to just reducing carbon, but can also help in keeping the temperature of cities balanced. Also, it can prove useful in providing clean and better air to the people.
Bhopal became the first city of the country
Bhopal has become the first city in the country to implement this technology in a public place. Enthusiasm is also being seen among the people to see the ‘Algae Tree’ planted in Vivekananda Park. Many people are considering this as a big future initiative for the environment. The company has indicated that in the coming time this technology will be extended to other cities of the country also. If this experiment is successful in Bhopal, then it can be implemented in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other big cities also.
