IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals pulled off a thrilling three-wicket victory over Punjab Kings in Match 55 of Indian Premier League 2026 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Monday, May 11, 2026. Chasing a challenging target of 211, Delhi Capitals recovered from a poor start to seal a dramatic win in one of the most exciting matches of the season.
Delhi lost three early wickets inside the powerplay and found themselves under pressure at 33 runs. Yash Thakur struck in the second over to dismiss Abishek Porel for five runs before Arshdeep Singh removed KL Rahul for nine off eight balls in the following over. Arshdeep struck again in the fifth over to dismiss Sahil Parakh for 13 runs off six deliveries, leaving Delhi struggling early in the chase. The Capitals suffered another setback at 74 when Tristan Stubbs was run out. However, captain Axar Patel counterattacked with a brilliant half-century to revive the innings.
Axar smashed 56 runs off 30 balls before being dismissed by Marcus Stoinis. His aggressive innings kept Delhi in the contest during the middle overs. David Miller then played a crucial knock under pressure, scoring 51 off 28 deliveries before Ben Dwarshuis dismissed him to give Punjab renewed hope late in the innings. Earlier, Punjab Kings posted 210 for five after being put in to bat. Captain Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 59 off 36 balls, smashing five boundaries and three sixes. Suryansh Shedge provided the late flourish with an unbeaten 21 off just eight deliveries.
Opener Priyansh Arya gave Punjab a flying start with 56 off 33 balls, while Cooper Connolly contributed 38 runs off 27 deliveries. Prabhsimran Singh chipped in with 18 runs. For Delhi Capitals, 22-year-old Madhav Tiwari impressed with the ball and picked up two wickets for 40 runs in his four-over spell. Mitchell Starc also claimed two wickets despite conceding 57 runs, while Mukesh Kumar chipped in with one wicket.
