Sachin Pilgaonkar spoke highly of Ranveer’s craft and said he liked the actor’s work in both ‘83’ and ‘Dhurandhar.’ He praised Ranveer for going deep into his characters rather than just playing them on the surface.




According to Moneycontrol, Sachin said, “Acting mujhe Ranveer ki 83 mein bahot achi lagti hai. (I really liked Ranveer’s acting in ‘83.’) Mujhe Ranveer as an actor bahot pasand hai. (I really like Ranveer as an actor.) Wo ghusta hai andar. (He gets inside the character.) Wo mujhe bahot pasand hai aise actor jo ghuske kaam karte hai. (I really like actors who enter deeply into their roles and work from within.) Toh me definitely usko 100 rupaye dena chahuga jab bhi wo milega. (So I would definitely want to give him 100 rupees whenever I meet him.) Mujhe even Dhurandhar me uska kaam bahot acha laga. (I also really liked his work in ‘Dhurandhar.’) Toh Akshaye Khanna logo ko bahot pasand aya, bahot acha kaam bhi kiya usne, author backed role tha uska. (Akshaye Khanna was liked a lot by people, and he also did very good work. His was an author-backed role.) Isko limitation thi usko as a spy nahi batana tha ke wo kya hai toh apne aap ko rok ke rakhna. (But Ranveer had limitations because, as a spy, he could not reveal what he really was. He had to hold himself back.) Jo kuch Ranveer ne kiya hai, Rokna apne aap ko lajawab kiya. (Whatever Ranveer has done, the way he restrained himself was outstanding.)”

The veteran actor also noted that Akshaye Khanna’s role received audience love. But he said Ranveer faced a different challenge because his character had to keep his identity hidden. That restraint, he said, made the performance more impressive.
