Shimla: In a tragic incident early Monday, six tourists hailing from Gujarat lost their lives, while four others suffered severe injuries when their vehicle fell into a deep gorge in Kakira, located in Chamba district, according to police reports.
The Toyota Innova, which was carrying ten passengers, was en route from Manali to Dalhousie when the accident occurred.
The force of the crash was so severe that debris from the vehicle was scattered across the area, making it challenging for rescue teams to assist the injured, who were subsequently transported to the zonal hospital.
Authorities confirmed that the deceased were all tourists from Gujarat, traveling from Manali to Dalhousie.
While the exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, officials noted that witnesses indicated the driver may have lost control while navigating a sharp turn.
