Tom Brady referenced Kevin Hart's infidelity scandal, leaving the comedian visibly stunned.
On 10 May, former American football quarterback Tom Brady, 48, took to the stage at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles for The Roast of Kevin Hart.
During the Netflix special, Brady initially ridiculed Hart's stature, branding him a "hobbit," in reference to the diminutive humanoid characters from J.R.R. Tolkien's literary works, before tossing him a children's-sized Knicks jersey.
He then delivered a far more cutting blow when he alluded to the occasion Hart was unfaithful to his then-expectant wife, Eniko Hart, in 2017, leaving the comedian visibly taken aback.
This followed Hart's earlier outburst at an unrecognisable wax figure featured in the roast special's trailer.
Brady mockingly said, "This won't take long. As I am a busy man. I do have a few words for you. Before I return to my affairs in Las Vegas. Oh Wait!
"I'm talking about affairs in Las Vegas! I'm not supposed to talk about affairs because of Vegas. Think I broke another rule!" he chuckled and smiled at the laughing crowd before he closed with, "Boy! Can I talk about it!", reports the Mirror US.
Viewers flocked to social media to applaud the football legend's performance, which left Hart distinctly embarrassed.
Following the savage dig, one viewer wrote on X, "Tom Brady cooked Kevin Hart during the Roast of Kevin Hart on Netflix!"
Another viewer added, "That's exactly the kind of unexpected chaos that makes a roast unforgettable! Thank you, Tom Brady!"
A third said, "He looks surprised! Tom said something he wasn't supposed to!" Despite an outpouring of support from fans, the Netflix show was not without its detractors, as one online user remarked, "Roast is not funny at all. Show is trash."
Brady was referring to Hart's deposition at Los Angeles Superior Court in August 2024. The Ride Along actor claimed to have slept with Montia Sabbag the morning after taking ecstasy.
Hart alleged he had taken ecstasy the night before he cheated on his then-pregnant wife, Eniko Hart, back in 2017, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. Hart's breach-of-settlement legal battle with former friend Jonathan "J.T." Jackson stemmed from the star's 2017 sex-tape scandal, and included a transcript of a September 2017 deposition in which Hart detailed the events of that evening.
In his own words, Hart accused his friend of pressuring him into taking a drug that had been slipped into his drink, stating: "Because it's in my drink, I thought I'm fine. I'm fine with drinking. The night is good. As the night goes, I'm now with the girl, Montia Sabbag, at the end of the night, okay?"
Following the emergence of extortion claims surrounding the sexually suggestive footage, Hart issued a public apology to his wife via Instagram, saying: "I made a bad error in judgment and I put myself in a bad environment where only bad things can happen and they did."
The Roast of Kevin Hart is available to stream on Netflix.
