New Delhi: The Ambani family made a striking fashion statement in Venice as they attended a special dinner celebrating the return of the India Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. The evening, which marked a key cultural moment, also turned into a showcase of high fashion, with Nita Ambani, Isha Ambani and Radhika Merchant presenting three distinct couture interpretations of elegance. Each look reflected a different style language, ranging from traditional Indian craftsmanship to global luxury fashion houses.

Nita Ambani chose a handwoven Banarasi saree paired with heirloom jewellery, while Isha Ambani opted for a Chanel Haute Couture gown-inspired saree silhouette. Radhika Merchant brought a contemporary edge in a custom Givenchy ensemble inspired by classic cinematic glamour. Together, their appearances highlighted a mix of heritage, craftsmanship and modern couture at one of the world’s most prestigious art events.

Nita Ambani chose an ivory-beige Banarasi brocade Kaduwa saree, handwoven over several months, reflecting traditional Indian craftsmanship. She paired it with a structured lace blouse by Manish Malhotra. Her jewellery stood out with a Ratna Riverie necklace featuring Burmese rubies, Colombian emeralds and diamonds from her personal collection. A carved temple-style handbag added a distinctive traditional touch to the ensemble.

Isha Ambani wore a Chanel Haute Couture-inspired saree gown, recreated from Look 72 of the Spring Summer 1989 collection. The silhouette combined structured couture tailoring with draped elegance, while metallic detailing enhanced the pallu and waistline. The outfit balanced vintage runway influence with a modern red-carpet sensibility, making it one of the standout fashion moments of the evening.

Radhika Merchant opted for a custom Givenchy ensemble inspired by saree silhouettes originally designed for Audrey Hepburn. The one-shoulder outfit featured structured draping paired with matching opera gloves. She completed the look with statement diamond jewellery, adding a refined sparkle to the minimalist couture base and creating a strong visual impact at the Venice gathering.

Beyond the fashion moment, the Ambani family also attended the opening of the National Pavilion of India at the Venice Biennale. Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Akash Ambani, Shloka Mehta, Anant Ambani, Radhika Merchant, and Isha Ambani were present along with Anand Piramal, marking a full family appearance at the cultural showcase.
