Kolkata: The Indian stock market dived in early trade on Monday, May 11 with both BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 registering sharp falls. While BSE Sensex dropped to 76,365.62, down 962.57 points or 1.24%, Nifty 50 fell to 23,912.90, down 263.25 points or 1.09%. The markets seemed to be responding to the US and Iran sharply disagreeing with a peace plan in West Asia drafted in Washington and the price of crude oil which jumped on Monday. GIFT Nifty was also down this morning.
Gainers and laggards on NSE
The gainers on NSE around 9:25 were only a handful. These were TATACONSUM, MAXHEALTH, APOLLOHOSP, SBILIFE and SUNPHARMA. Among the top laggards in early trade were TITAN, INDIGO, SBIN, ETERNAL, JIOFIN, SHRIRAMFIN, M&M etc.
