Andrew Yancy is officially getting back to “not strictly police business.” Following the success of its 2024 debut, Apple TV+ has greenlit a second season of the sun-soaked detective comedy. As of May 10, 2026the show is deep into production with some massive creative shifts and a legendary new co-star.

Bad Monkey Season 2 Release Date Speculation

While Apple TV+ has not yet locked in a specific premiere date, the production timeline has become much clearer:

• Official Status: Renewed (Confirmed in late 2024).

• Production Status: Filming officially began in November 2025. In a notable shift, production moved from Florida to California to take advantage of state tax incentives, though the story will still be set in the Florida Keys.

• Projected Release: Late 2026 or Early 2027.

• The “Lawrence” Schedule: Showrunner Bill Lawrence is currently juggling several high-profile projects, including Shrinking Season 3 and the fourth season of Ted Lasso. Given the late-2025 filming start, a return in November or December 2026 is the most likely target for Apple.
