India’s Neeru Dhanda and Vivaan Kapoor combined to win the trap mixed team bronze medal at the 2026 ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sunday.
Dhanda and Kapoor shot 24/30 to finish on the podium in the four-team final.
The Indians were tied with Italy’s Mauro De Filippis and Silvana Maria Stanco after the third series but were knocked out of the competition because of a lower qualification score and had to settle for a broze.
Earlier, Kapoor and Dhanda had shot 143 to finish second in the qualification round behind the Italian duo’s 145.
Their bronze marked the first medal win for India in a senior shotgun competition in the 2026 season.
It also marked the first World Cup medal for Dhanda, who was crowned the women’s trap Asian champion last year.
The other Indian team in contention in mixed trap team event of Ahvar Rizvi and Pragati Dubey didn’t qualify for the final. They shot a total of 130 in the qualification round to finish 23rd.
